'66 Fuel Gauge Reads Backwards?

I just replaced the main wiring harness, rear harness, fuel tank and sending unit. When the tank is full - the gauge reads empty. When the tank is empty - the gauge reads full.
Prior to replacing the parts listed above - the gauge was always "pegged" to the full side. Any ideas?

Better yet, leave it upright, but turn it inside out. Sounds as if your guage wires are not correct. Check to see what the orentation of the wires is at the guage connector. The tan wire in in the narrow part and the pink is in the wider part of the connector.
