Re: '62 Ignition Shielding
Don, this is a pretty straightforward installation. The instructions are in the options section of the AIM, under radio. CC's catalog also has a pretty good picture. Only trick is when installing the brackets for the lower shielding, leave the manifold bolts loose until the lower shields are in place and bolted up. Then tighten the manifold bolts to lock the brackets in place.- Top

Re: '62 Ignition Shielding
Dear Ed,
Thank you for your response and information. I've looked at both AIM and CC and you're right, but it doesn't indicate what to bolt to. I'm surprised the kit doesn't come with instructions, especially with a part with so many parts and so many ways I can think of screwing it up! I can't tell if it's the oil pan or the manifold. I guess my AIMs is pretty faded but it's hard to tell. Again, thanks for your time and knowledge you provided me, I truly appreciate your expertise.- Top

Re: '62 Ignition Shielding
The spark plug heat shields (the curved pieces) bolt to the block with a 1/4" bolt. The brackets for the horizontal shields bolt to the inner exhaust manifold bolt on each end. (#2 and #5 if you were to number them from front to back)The verticle shields attach to brackets bolted to the two end intake manifold bolts. The rt one has the coil attached. The top shield bolts to the same two brackets as the verticles. The LH bracket also has the hole for the top bolt. The wire looms are also attached to these brackets. If you start assembling, it will be pretty obvious where everything goes. I think it will only go thoether one way.- Top
