    NCRS guidelines

    Who wrote this?

NCRS Technical Discussion Board: Interactive Resource for Sharing Information on Corvettes from Model Years 1953 through 1982! Technical Discussion only. Ask fellow members for solutions that they have found for all variety of restoration problems. This is an amazing wealth of knowledge available to Corvette Restorers or Corvette Drivers. The Technical Board Archives contain over 60,000 posts you can search by keyword, date, or author.

Does this mean you cannot talk about reproduction tank stickers? Is that a dirty word like "correctness"? I guess we can talk about sheep only.

    Re: NCRS guidelines

Good questions. I'd like to know who is responsible for writing that too. The reproduction tank stickers have been discussed on occasion here before.

On Tuesday 22 Dec 1998: Dean Vittoe, Chuck Gongloff, Joe Lucia, Bill Becker, Jack Humphrey, and Isabelle Waite all discussed reproduction window and tank stickers.

On Wednesday 6 Sept 2000: George Rogers, Tom Barr, and Dave Strickland discussed reproduction tank stickers.

On Friday 23 Feb 2001: Daren Schneider, Chuck Gongloff, TED WALTHER, and Rick Snow discussed reproduction tank stickers.

And on Tuesday 4 Dec 2001: TED WALTHER, Tom Freeman, Bob Cook, John Hinckley, and Rick Snow discussed reproduction tank stickers.

In fact, from what TED says, someone at the NCM referred him on to Triple-A Enterprises for help.

All in all, there hasn't been a whole lot of discussion about reproduction tank stickers here over the last 5 years that I could find. More information to help with the restoration and preservation of Corvettes should be welcomed. And the best part is that it's free here, too.

      Re: NCRS guidelines

I think the term "technical" is used loosely and to some extent open to interpretation. In my opinion, reproduction tank stickers are a topic related to the restoration of '53 through '82 Corvettes. I am not sure how "technical" the topic is but again, I think the interpretation is loosely defined.

If in doubt, you can always ask the board moderator or post the subject and see if it raises an objection as an inappropriate topic.

        Tom,
Those discussions you list are about reporduction window stickers. Only a couple of mentions in passing about tank stickers.

Not that it makes a whole lot of difference...

...but to me the glass looks half full. I guess I've missed your point, Tom. There's only four examples? They aren't specific enough to qualify as a topic of discussion? Tbarr #24014

Re: Not that it makes a whole lot of difference...

Does not really make any difference. And the glass is not half full or half empty, it is just the wrong size. Just that Doc's topic was about repo tank stickers, mainly aged ones, and the previous discussions listed were about window stickers.

This must be a perception problem.

Evidently I don't have the answer to the perceived confusion so I'll just excuse myself now. Thanks, what ever your opinion might be Tom. Tbarr #24014
