I'm in the process of purchasing a 15x5 steel wheel to use as a spare in the trunk of my 62.A question as to the size of the valve stem opening in the rim was brought up. Do I want the large or the small? Naturally I want the wheel to be as correct as possible. I didn't even know that there was two sizes. Is there a rhyme or reason for this? Does it really matter which one I recieve?

Re: C1 STEEL WHEEL QUESTION
Jim, Once again you have come through for me! Thanks! I only ask because I was unaware of two different size holes. Naturally if I replace anything, I try to replace the item as correct as possible. Of course, my budget at the time is also a factor. Thanks again Jim!- Top

Re: C1 STEEL WHEEL QUESTION
There are several other factors that make a wheel correct/incorrect on a 62, and that should adjust the price accordingly.
the center section should have a circumferential "hump" rther than a valley as it breaks from the highest point (when lying flat) to the connection with the outer rim. 62 5" wheels were welded, not riveted, and the welded area had no kidney-shaped stamped impressions in the part of the center section that attaches to the outer rim. Those differences make about a $100-125 difference in the value of a wheel.- Top
