    Electrical Problems

I have a problem that I believe is some sort of electrical problem but I can't pin point the problem area. I have a 64 coupe with 327 300HP. All of the parts are fairly new if not seldom used and the problem has gotten progressively worse. I suspected timing but when the timing light was attached, the engine intermittently was missing on the first cylinder. I checked the rotor cap for cracks and it looks ok. The points look clean and all of the spark plug wiring is new. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem with my 61'. If is tried to use the timing light on the number one cyclinder, it would flash intermittently. I thought the light was bad, so I borrowed another. It turned out that I had a three fouling plugs, one being #1. I replaced all plugs, and the engine runs fine. Phil
