    FLOOR MATS

I AM LOOKING FOR SOME TUXEDO BLACK FLOORMATS FOR MY '62. HAS ANYONE SEEN ANYTHING NICE LATELY. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE AUTHENTIC, JUST TRYING TO KEEP MY CARPET IN SHAPE.

I have used the ones provided by Auto Custom Carpets of Anniston, Alabama for years. They fit well and are of high quality in addition to being attractive.

Auto Custom Carpet makes a floor mat with the C1 logo on it. It is available in the various correct interior colors and adds a lot to the look of the interior. I've had a set for several years and they look great.

I got a set of rubber mats for a pick-up and cut to size. Fills the whole floor area.

Two questions please, Dale. Were floor mats ever a factory option on our 62s? (i.e. judging with floor mats in).

I also like ACC floor mats, but the ones I've seen don't have a driver's heel pad, which I like. Do you know if they, or any vendors make mats with the driver's heel pad?

            Thanks as always.

              Re: FLOOR MATS

Floor mats were never delivered to a dealer with a production 1962 Corvette.

I don't know of any heel pad type mat.

If you want to literally intrepret the NCRS judging standard "as was typically prepared for delivery by a dealer", then throw in a couple of paper floor mats preferably with dealership promotion printed thereon.

              Dale.
