C1 (1962) Cowl Connecting Rod Color

The 1962 Judging Manual, Interior section 10 on Cowl Vent & Hood Release; states that "the S-shaped rod connecting vent to the lever mechanism is formed tubular steel". It does not specify the color, or lack thereof. What color should this rod be painted?

Black semi-gloss, and it was not unusual for them to have body color overspray on the top from paint that came through the screen.

Agreed. Semi gloss to gloss black with exterior color overspray BUT the vent was laying on the passenger floor when painted.

Of course you are right Dale, It would have been almost impossible to get good coverage with the vent mounted on the car. Regards, John
