C2 Frame Pull Date - What Color ???

What color was the frame pull date that was handwritten near the battery box. I understand it was done with a grease pencil or lumber crayon. I would think white as the shim marks were in white.

No White Lumber Crayons - what else ??

I can not find any white lumber crayons. I have tried home depot and three other hardware stores on of which was also a lumber yard. What else have folks used for the handwritten pull date on a 66 chassis.

I can't remember for sure, but I think 'Griot's Garage' might carry such crayons individually or in a set.

BTW: I used orange for my pull date. I do not believe there is any hard and fast rule that says it must be white. Remember, the pull date was not applied by the same person who applied the shim marks, so he may have had a different color paint stick in his pocket. A third possibility could have been a green pull date.
