72 base motor valve cover grommets

Can anyone confirn the type of grommets used in 1972 base motor valve covers? I am talking about the grommet used for the PCV on the driver's side, and the grommet used to connect to the flame arrestor in the air cleaner on the passenger side.

There are two types as I see it. Type one is a simple circular grommet, and fits flat into the valve cover. Type two is a grommet that is sort of square on the outside, and has a circular hole in the center. This grommet also changes the angle that the "whatever" sits at. The back side (outside from the engine center) is higher than the inside.

What grommets are correct for a 72 base motor car?

As you are aware, several different configurations of these grommets were used over the 68-82 period.

For 1972 with base engine and steel valve covers the grommets used for both sides were GM #3989350. The best way that I can describe these is that the top of the grommet has one rounded side and one "squarish" side.

This grommet is still available from GM under the original part number for $2.23/each. Your local Chevrolet dealer may even have them in stock.
