    66 427/425 timing cover/oil pan unique?

I understand that original 66 427/425hp oil pans had a hole in the center lower front radius for a hex head bolt to pass thru the oil pan threading to a welded nut on the lower center timing cover. Is this an accurate description and is this arrangement unique only to the 66 427/425hp engine vs the 65 396/425hp or 67 427/435hp ?

    Peter----

The screw which you described was used on ALL 1965-66 Chevrolet big block engines, Corvette and otherwise. As I recall, the screw was eliminated for the 1967 model year.
