    '68 - '72 electro-vacuum wiper solenoid valve

There is a small electric solenoid valve screwed to the back of the tachometer that controls vacuum to the wiper door relay. I believe the GM part number is 5638276, which was discontinued in 1997.

Does anyone know of a current vendor source for this valve? The Dr. Rebuild catalog does list them, but they have run out. None of my other current catalogs even show them.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

You may want to give Paragon Vintage a call. I'm pretty sure this part is not being reproduced, so a used or NOS one may be your only hope. If Paragon can't help, start trying the popular used parts boneyards.

      Jerry----

This valve is not currently reproduced and I sort of doubt that it will be. These sometimes show up for sale on eBay in used or NOS condition.

Jerry, there was a thread on the corvette forum about taking the valve apart and cleaning it up and most work great after this operation. It's a tough little bugger to get out and even tougher to find a new or NOS one, If mine ever go on the blink, I will try the take apart method first and if that dosen't work,I would try to find a good replacement! Hi Jerry - I just purchased the valve from Caledonia Corvette that was NOS and it was around $60. I think he may only have one left and unfortunately I am on the road to Carlisle and do not have his number.

          Thanks
