I am looking for informtaion on a John Perkel. I am not sure of the spelling of the name. I gothis name from one of the NCRS judges. I believe that he sells alternaotrs and the like. I am looking for an alternator for a 69 corvette. Part number 1100859, date coded for May (E), June(F), July (G)codes...
If anyone can help on this person or where I can locate an original alternaotr, please let me know.
    Thanks for the information...

          Kelly-----

I strongly recommend that you call John Pirkle; John and his son John Jr. are just about the best in the Corvette electrical parts business. However, the last that I heard, John had most folks wanting a 69 alternator on a waiting list. 1969 Corvette alternators are, without a doubt, among the most difficult to find of ALL Corvette alternators.

This outfit claims to stock 1969 corvette rear alternator cases. That would be the section having the dates and parts numbers, correct?

I donot know who they are simply found them on the Google search.

              Kelly,

John Pirkle has a web site also. http://www.johnpirkle.com

I support what Joe says about the difficulty in finding 1969 alternators. I check with John every year at Carlisle and the list continues to grow. Good luck!

                Jack-----

The alternator part number and dates are found on the drive end (front) case half. The split ring end (rear) case half has no stamped numbers. However, notwithstanding the stamped numbers, both the drive end and split ring end case halves for 1969 Corvette alternators are unique and very rare. The drive end case half used for 1969 and all or part of 1970 was unique. The split ring case half used for 1969 was unique to that year only.
