    72 base motor valve covers

Could anyone with an original base motor 72 please describe the valve covers that are on your engine. I think I understand that the driver's side cover has two holes (oil fill with a rubber oil plug, and pcv) and two wire clips on the inside of the cover. The passenger side cover has one hole for air cleaner ventillation tube and no wire clips.

Is this correct? Where exactly are the wire clips located on the driver's side cover? A rough measurement from the end of the valve cover or the bolt holes to the clips would be great.

    Ed,

Didn't I e-mail you pics of these a while back? Let me know if you need them again.

I got the pics. Thanks. I am trying to get a better feel for exactly where the wire clips are located on a Corvette valve cover. I have a set of covers that I think will work OK. Thanks for your help on this.
