1961 245hp carbs

I have to replace the carbs on my 1961 245hp. They are incorrect. Does anyone know of a good source? It is a very early 1961. Does thta matter in the numbers of the carbs? thanks, Joe

The best source for the early Carter carbs and rebuild services from my experience is Bob Kunz in St. Louis. I don't have his telephone number handy but he is a Hemmings and Driveline advertiser.

Try Ebay. Every so often a pair shows up. You can click on the completed items section to see what recent final sale prices were. I bought my two carbs for a 270HP 1960 two years ago for $600.00 on Ebay. Bob Kuntz restored them. He is the best.

I've heard nothing but complaints about Bob Kunz for the past two years! Steve Bone had to return a WCFB three times before it would run! Kunz used to do a pretty good job.

I know that Bob Kunz is quite busy now. He refered me to Chuck Smith in Calabasas, CA. I had a very messed up set of WCFBs for my 56. I took them to Chuck and he spent about 2 hours on them and they worked great! His phone number is (818) 222-5757. Very knowledgeable, honest, and fair.

I just received a complete correct 2X4 setup from Grossmuellers Corvette - I have not put them on the car yet, but they look great. I did some research before I ordered, and got nothing but good feedback about Grossmuellers. Their number is 800-258-5362. Hope this helps, Jason Upshaw
