Does anyone know if the brass bushings that go at the "socket ball joint" to join the wiper arm transmision is still available from GM? They go in the joint where the 3/8" nuts are for adjustment. Thanks in advance.....

I don't think that the bushings were EVER available from GM. I think that they are part of the transmission assembly. No parts of the transmission assembly were ever available from GM.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

C2s use a "spacer-washer" but this part is not used on C3s. If the parts catalogues have such a part for the C3 transmission, then it's an aftermarket-type part of some kind. GM never sold such a piece. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I don't find any bushing or related part in that parts group or under that part number for a Corvette application. Are you sure that the GM #4918562 services a Corvette application? In any event, that part number is still an active and available part.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I'll be interested to know how well they work. There are many parts in the GM parts system that may work for applications for which they are not catalogued. However, most always I've found that when one attempts to use parts in applications for which they are not catalogued by GM, one finds that some modification is required or that some degree of "disfunctionality" is involved with the installation. Generally, I have found that GM is very good about cataloguing parts to SERVICE an application even if the part was not originally used for an application (e.g. like a part number supercession when the original part is discontinued). Sometimes, in these cases the part's fit or functionality might not be to the liking of some folks (like ME in the case of a SERVICE power antenna assembly which GM replaced the original part for my driver car), but the part will "more-or-less" SERVICE the application. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
