    Birthday Book/Build Dates

    I have a question regarding correlation of VINs and build dates. For my 56, I subtract 1000 before going into the book. Can someone tell me what to use from my 77 VIN? The birthday book uses 5 didgit numbers and my VIN has 6 digits at the end of the VIN. Is it simply the last 5 digits? Do I subtract anything? Thanks

      Why not just use the date from the trim tag on the drivers door pillar post? I think it would be a lot closer than any calculated number from a database.

          Mike, Thanks for the guidance. Can you tell this is my first Corvette other than C-1s? I'll take a look at the tag tonight - I suspect there is a lot of other good info on it as well. Steve
