    c1 cove moulding installation

Is there a trick or good how to on installing the cove moulding
on my 1960. I have heard horror stories on getting these simple
pieces to fit and wanted some good advice on installtion before
    I tackle the job.

P.S. the t-nut moulding clips look awfully darn small to work with.

Remove the kick panels on both sides to make it easier to gain access to the threaded side of the cove molding pieces. Removing the passenger side kick panel means removing the package tray and associated brackets.

You will have to remove the door panels and access plates to gain access to the door cove molding pieces; roll up the window and they should be visible.

Thanks Joe, is there a trick to actually sliding the moulding onto the
little t-nut/screw? how do you tighten them down? how do you adjust misalignment
      if there is any?

The T fastener just slides onto the molding one way; start with the rounded edge of the top of the T in a horizontal position, then twist it clockwise until the top of the T is vertical. It "locks" into place loosely. Place all of the T fasteners in place and adjust them by sliding them along the molding until they will insert into the holes drilled into the fiberglass. They do not permanently lock into place when the T is "locked" into place(vertical). If you need to slide them; just twist counterclockwise, loosen and move where you need it; then twist back into "locked" position. Once the fasteners are all in position, insert through holes, place flat washer and nut loosely until you get the pieces where they need to be.

Don't place the door molding too close to the fender molding where they meet or when you open the door, the door molding will bind on the fender molding and bend it. Leave just enough gap so there is no binding. Gently open the door and see if you have clearance between the door molding and fender molding; If it is the proper clearance; tighten the nuts down. Hope this helps.
