    '67 BB Intake/Carb gaskets

On a '67 427/390 (L36) engine. I am having trouble finding the proper configuration of the gaskets between the Carb and the Intake manifold. I know there is a compsite gasket with the slot that goes on the manifold (with the slot forward). Then a metal plate with four holes. What comes next? I have tried two different gaskets. One with four holes like the metal plate that flooded the carb. Another choice had one big opening. On this one the secondaries wouldn't open. The butterflies were not hitting the gasket. Can't find this gasket layout in any of the manuals I have. Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Craig Thompson #33994

    Craig-----

The carburetor comes next! On a 1967 L-36 there are only two parts between the carburetor and the intake manifold. Directly atop the intake manifold carburetor flange is the composition gasket. This gasket has four equal-sized venturi holes and the "slot" for the carb heat passage. It was originally GM #3884573. On top of the gasket is a stainless steel plate which, generally, matches the configuration of the gasket except that there is no carb heat slot cutout. This plate was originally GM #3884575. On top of that is the carburetor. That's all there is to it.

Both the gasket and the heat shield are long since GM-discontinued, but are available in reproduction.
