I came up with a fix of my wiper door pivot bolt holes that may be of help out there.
Briefly,I used the 68-77 interior rear quarter trim panel insert repair kit that is available by Dr. Rebuild.(look in the interior trim section of the catalogue)
1. Use a 1/4 inch drill and enlargen existing pivot bolt hole while drilling from the outboard face. This is bound to remove any existing broken threads from broken pivot bolts.
Maintain careful, uniform and consistent drill feed to follow factory hole.
2. Take each brass insert from kit and by using a no.25 drill, remove the existing threads and also drill clean through out the bottom of the insert. These new brass inserts are not completely hollow and need to be through drilled.
(These retainer threads are 10-24 fine which must be retapped to 10-24 course to match pivot bolt)
3. Retap new threads to 10-24 COURSE.
4. Using a minimal amount of epoxy or gel instant glue, insert the brass threaded insert into the wiper door hole (from the inboard sides).
Insert the chamfered end first and carefully drive flush with a light hammer.
5. Clean any burrs from the driven side of the insert with same tap.
This repair proved very successful for my '70 wiper door
There are more than enough inserts in each repair kit to do all four pivot holes of your wiper door.
Good luck!
