Firestone Affinity 215/70/15 Midyear tires

Has anyone had any experience with Firestone Affinity LH30 tires. They are one of only a few H or higher rated tires in this size I have been able to find. Will this size, on a 6 inch rally wheel, cause rubbing or other problems on a '66? I have read the archives until I am thoroughly confused!

Have a look at Pirelli P4000 in that size. They are said to be a very nice smooth touring tire with a V+ rating. They should work out fine. But just in case, be careful at first and go slow over bumps with the wheels turned sharplyin either direction, like turning into a driveway, until you are confident they don't rub.

The 215/70R-15 is the same revs per mile (775) as the OEM 7.75-15, so it is a good size for a C2, and the '67 6" Rally wheels or KO's are preferable to the OEM 5.5" steel wheels.

Assuming your Rally wheels have the OEM +0.06" offset you should have sufficient fender clearance, however, there could be some interference in jounce at the front with a lot of steering lock, so you want to staighten the wheel as you pull into a steep approach driveway.

A "H" speed rating is adequate for a C2, but if you want a higher speed rating Michelin offers a V-rated Energy MXV4 in this size and The 215/70ZR-15 Pirelli P4000 Super Touring carries a "W" speed rating.
