    LS-5 temp sender unit?

I have a slightly modified 71 454 LS-5 with headers and a torker II intake. I want to put the original equipment back on. My problem is the temp sender is currently located in the water bypass inlet on the torker II and the water pump has a block off plug. Where is the sender supposed to be located?

    thanks

Looked at stock '71 454 at lunch this afternoon. Temp sender is mounted in LH cylinder head just above and aft #3 plug. Interesting because it's still in this position today (ref my '93 Suburban 2500).
