My 1965 TIM&JG (4th Edition) makes the following statement on page 20,in the "Both Convertible And Coupe Models" subsection:
"...black waterproofing compound (not silicone) is used on the body/windshield post area to seal the weatherstripping",
The AIM refers to this by part number, which does not help. Is this sealant hard, flexible, sticky? I have plenty of urethane windshield sealant, which is black, flexible, and dries dull (not shiny like silicone). I also have black strip sealant, which is more of a putty, does not dry, and remains somewhat sticky. Do I have "the right stuff" on hand, or do I need to use something else?
Thanks in advance.
Joe
