    Re: C2 Engine Install

    Clem:

Thank you for the quick response. I do have adequate oil pressure. Oil is getting into rocker arms. The reason I know this is because I forgot to tighten down the valve covers and oil leaked on the exhaust manifold.

There is oil in the trans. When I push in the clutch, the screeching does not stop. I would assume if it were the TO bearing, the screeching would stop when I pushed in the clutch....or am I wrong?

Anything else you could think of would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

    Thanks so much.

        Dave:

Thanks for the info on Ron. I thought he knew what he was doing.

I don't have a dust shield so guess that's not the problem here. But please keep any and all suggestions coming my way. This has been a long five years in the making and my patience is wearing thin.

        Thanks again.

            Joe:

Sounds as if people have dealt with Ron on this board so that makes me feel a little better, but no less confused.

The TO bearing was new and was functioning fine with the old engine. I will recheck and be sure. It would be great if this would be the problem. If you can think of anything else, please pass it along my way. I am desperate.

            Thanks for all your help.

i would disconect the clutch linkage and make sure that the TO bearing not touching the pressure plate fingers and restart the engine to see if the noise goes away. the cover over the back side of the flywheel should also be removed if it has been installed.

                    Thanks, Clem:

I believe I did try this sometime last night. Nothing appears to be touching.

Thank you again, and if anyting else comes to mind, please let me know. This is driving me crazy.

                    Thanks so much.
