The altenator just went on my 63. It was not the correct unit for my car and I felt if I'm going to replace it I might as well look for the correct one. Does anyone know where I can find alternator number 1100628. The car is a May assembly. Your help is appreciated.

You might try John Pirkle 706-860-9047. There also are a number of advertisers in the Hemmings Motor News monthly periodical (see your local full-service bookseller like Borders) in the Corvette parts section who specialize in alternators and can probably find what you are looking for, albeit at a premium price for searching their inventory. -
