I recently bought a set of origonal derby center caps, and want to make them look a little better. First off, what is the best polish to use to bring back the shine of the chrome dishes and possibly diminish very fine scratches? Second, what is the best technique to repaint the black strips that run laterally around the center caps? Thanks in advance, Dan

I have had luck using Semichrome and Weenol for chrome for the polishing. As far as painting, I took the center section apart from the ring and masked and painted the stripes. I also sprayed the lettering without masking and then wiped the overspray off with a rag soaked in thinner. -
