    Valve Stem Seals

My orig. 67 L71 needs the valve stem seals replaced. What are the prefered seals and how available are they? Thanks guys.

I'd recommend using the stock-type seal. They are currently available under GM #460527 for a current GM list price of $3.85/each.

Stock type VP-2 seals are good and certainly will serve you well.... I would definately use them on the exhausts. I might consider Perfect Circle type seals on the intakes for an added measure of security. That is how we rebuild 'em in our shop. If you are taking the heads off, I would have them machined for the seals. Fairly simple operation. If not, I would stick with Joe's recommendation.
