    Hello Juliet, there is no liner between #6 and #7, counting from the bottom up (9 leaf spring). Good luck, I'm going through all that work in a couple of months, so I'm reading all these threads as a boy in the toy store.

        Juliet - lots of discussion last year at Bloomington on spring painting, GM only called for Ikonclad on the thrust faces of the spring, and left in unpainted other than slop on the topside. I bought a NOS GM F41 spring recently, and that is exactly how the leaves were painted, individually, upside down, with runs from the bottom to the top, with some drool onto the tops of each leaf, then assembled with liners afterword and no paint on the liners.....Craig
