Can someone help me identify four 15" wheels? Painted silver on the face, black on the back. One example of stamping on the front side is
#1 - in the centre hub section near the wheel nut mounting holes GM K-1-8-2
and J-22
#2 on the outer part near the valve stem opening K183 4 valve hole 4 AZ

Check out the issue of the Restorer that came out just before the current one. It has everything you could ever want to know about corvette wheels and lots of pictures.

The most important characters in all of those that you've described is the "AZ". This identifies the wheels as the 15 X 8 rally wheels used for Corvettes from 1969 through 1982. These wheels, originally manufactured by Kelsey-Hayes, are still manufactured by the Hayes Wheel Division of Hayes-Lemerz.

The most important characters in all of those that you've described is the "AZ". This identifies the wheels as the 15 X 8 rally wheels used for Corvettes from 1969 through 1982. These wheels, originally manufactured by Kelsey-Hayes, are still manufactured by the Hayes Wheel Division of Hayes-Lemerz.

Yes, they are. GM #327708. However, they currently list for $168.90/each. You can purchase the same wheel, minus the "GM" stamping, from Hayes wheel dealers for about $75.00/each. Hayes number is 81982.

You can now get the illusive 15X7s for 68s from Wheel Vintiques Inc. without markings but correct offset.
