The third edition of the 1966 NCRS Judging Guide indicates on page 105 that the three pieces of a non-AC big block fan shroud are glued and have a single rivet at the upper left hand joint. Page F202 of the Assembly Guide has no reference to the rivet and an owner of a well known fiberglass reproducer has mentioned to me that there never has been a rivet on the 66 BB fan shroud. Any guidance on who may be correct?

Re: 66 BB fan shroud
Barry,
The original fan shround that came on my '66 BB AC coupe had a aluminum plug type rivet through the top seam. The shroud was broken, although I salvaged the rivet and "reinstalled" in on a repro fan shroud (with extension ring). THe car was judged, and no points deducted for the shroud. The repro from LICorvette was pretty good, although I spent 4 or 5 hours cutting the extension ring slots, adding the rivet and in general, making it look like the original fit and finish.
