    67 w/ C60 A/C - washer bag

Hello all: I'm wondering if the repop 67-only washer bags are good accurate reproductions or if they are easily discernable from original. I was watching an NOS one on ebay and the high price it fetched leads me to believe that there must be something about it that makes it worth over $200 more than a repop. (then again maybe not????) Haven't bought one yet and need to budget accordingly...

    Thanks,
    Karl

I just bought a repop and it looks pretty good to me! I certainly cant see $150.00 worth of difference!

        I can....

Unless the reproduction suppliers have radically changed their product recently. The differences that I've seen in the past are:

        (1) Size of bag mounting eyelets.
        (2) Placement of bag mounting eyelets.
        (3) Color/texture of backside bag material.

Getting a correct/original for my '65 BB (very similar to the '67 bag) was the longest/hardest part for me to come up with during my restoration and L78 parts, in general, tain't easy to come by nor are they cheap! I forked out $325 for my NOS in-box '65 washer bag.

There is a ton of difference between an original and the repo. Unless they have changed, its so different, you would be hard pressed to even use the word "reproduction". I have compared my originals with an NOS bag and they are the same. The only thing you can say about the repo is it attaches to inner fender and holds fluid.

I bought a NOS 67 bag for my C60 L79 last year on Ebay for $185...it had been stored in a closet drawer since 1972, and I had the option to buy the 2nd one he had for the same....I just bought one, probably should have bought both and auctioned it off! It has the tan cloth backing, versus the repo plastic style back. Still very soft and pliable....Craig
