    Vent door repair kit

Just recieved my vent door repair kit from the Dr. and started to reassemble the doors when I noticed there are only 8 rivets when 14 are needed. What's up with that? It's a 67 and the parts say 63-67. Are you out there doc?

I don't know what doc's problem is. I went to place a large order with him the other day and got so fed up with his attitude I just canceled it and ordered from Corvette central. It seems all of these supply houses are losing touch with reality in one way or another.

In Doc's defense, I used his kit to restore my 1967 vent doors. It took 8 rivets, 4 per door to sandwich the rubber seal back in place. I didn't need to touch the pivots. They look great.

Scotts post is very interesting. I know for sure that this is an original 67 vent door and that all of the rivets go all the way through. My car is a March 67. What is yours, Scott. Maybe this will help the Doc.

                            John,
My car is a May '67 car. They were pretty corroded and there was not any rubber lip left, I don't have any reason not to beleive they were not original doors.
