66 headlight motor runs in the down direction only

Hi,
I have taken my headlight motor out which only runs in the down direction. It was working, but has not worked well in the up direction for a while. The gears turn and I could manually rotate the lights up. On the bench the motor runs only down ( power put on each contact prong one at a time ). Before I attempt to take the motor apart, what should I be looking for electronically. Bad bushings, contacts etc.?

If it doesnt even try to work, I would look for a broken wire near the contact.
