    67 L89 conv.

Had a great time at a chapter meet hosted by the Northeast Chapter yesterday in Connecticut. There was a 67 conv with L89 (alum head) option.
While there was a sense of healthy scepticism by some that accompanies the appearance of a car of this nature and value, it passed muster in the ever important Mech 1 section of judging. The car reportedly was originally purchased for racing. It was a radio delete car. My question is why someone would order a car with radio delete, yet include power windows ? Also why not C48 ?

        No radio delete in '67

There is no such thing as "radio delete" in 1967. A radio was not part of the base equipment package, so a '67 with no radio was simply ordered with no radio option.

            Re: 67 L89 conv. (why PW ?)

Let me toss this in --- race drivers on the track have no time to fool around with cranking the side windows, either in pit stops for communication/refreshment or to adjust cockpit heat on the track. (Of course this applies only to the race rules that allow side windows).

Many of the big-tank Z06'63s had power windows.

                    Duke,
Yes,yes, yes, you are correct U69 was an option not a option delete like C48.
But keep in mind for '67 over 96% of all Corvettes had this option.
In terms of the logistics in St. Louis and the coordination of wiring harnesses without condensers, engines without shielding and brackets, and dash panels without radio holes, I'm sure it was treated more like an "option" than the majority of cars that did receive radios as ordered.

Back in the mid-fifties the word on the street was that power windows actually reduced weight, so a lot of racers ordered power windows.

The AMA Specifications include weights for various options, but power windows are not listed in my 1963 version!
