    62 - 8" Balancer

Help! I purchased a "new" 8" balancer for the 327/340 a few years ago from Goat Hill in Carlisile. At the time I was just putting the car back together after a total restoration and purchased lots of parts that year. Since completing my car I have driven it 3200 miles and have since developed a problem with the balancer. The outer ring has started slipping back 1/8"+ and was hitting the timeing cover making a terrible noise. I took off the balancer last week and took it to Carlisile last weekend hopeing to find Goat Hill, but was unsucessful as the rains came and people were closing up. Can anyone give me a shop that can replace the rubber in this unit? Or the address of Goat Hill in California? I live in upstate NY. Thanks

From your copy of the March-April 2002 issue of Driveline:

Paragon lists a harmonic balancer rebuild service in their catalog, BUT they may be sub-contracting to Goat Hill as Goat Hill IS their supplier for a number of Paragon catalog listed pulley assy's.....

Go to "Hemmings" under either Chevrolet or Corvette for a couple of Balancer rebuilders - two which are on the west Coast, in Northern and Southern California.
