My recollection is there WAS a luggage rack option for mid-year cars but like some exotics (roadside emergency kit, compass, ski rack, Etc.) it was a dealer exclusive option meaning not supplied by the factory and subject to minor deduction in NCRS/NCCB formal judging....

        Rick and Jack-----

Yes, Chevrolet did offer a luggage rack for 63-67 Corvette convertibles. It was, indeed, not a factory-installed option and was an over-the-counter parts item that could be dealer or owner installed.

For those folks desiring them (usually, for the purpose of filling the rear deck holes left from a previous installation that was removed), these 63-67 original luggage racks are one of the most difficult of all 63-67 parts to locate. I've NEVER seen an original, either NOS or used, for sale anywhere. Also, as far as I know, there is no reproduction available. At least, I've never seen one advertised in any catalog.

I have seen several. Matter of fact I actually have one(convt.) hanging on a nail out in the shop. The attachment was like the 68,69 type with the offset feet.

My '65 coupe has an original, dealer installed luggage rack. Kind of strange looking, and not exactly too functional. I'm planning to have the car repainted this fall and will be removing the rack for good. Anyone interested?
