I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 1959 CORVETTE (MY FIRST) IT HAS A 270HP W/SOLID LIFTERS. THE OIL CAP IS VENTED,CORVETTE CENTRAL SHOWES A NONVENTED CAP.IS THERE A PROBLEM USING A VENTED CAP? THANKS BILL

A vented cap allows oil to be blown out onto the intake at high RPM or excessive blowby circumstances. It IS required for PCV systems however whether soilid or hydraulic lifters.
You should use a solid bottom cap. Oil-Oil, two half-moons.
