The AIM drawing, page F205, View A shows the connection between the frame rail fuel line and the pipe nipple coming from the fuel pump.
This drawing shows the inlet connection on the right front or about 5 o'clock from the pump flange with the outlet to the carburetor at about 2 o'clock.
Installed a rebult original pump (AC cast on top of the pump body) today. With the outlet at the correct position to line up with the fuel line to the carb, the inlet is at the 8 o'clock position. This places the pump inlet pipe almost in line with, and slightly below, the frame fuel line. To connect the two, the hose would almost have to make a "S" curve. This is the first time I have used an original pump and none of the photos show this detail.
I have checked the part numbers and this appears to be the correct pump, but it doesn't match the orientation of the AIM figure. Any thoughts. A digital photo of one that is correct would be most helpful. Thanks in advance
