    1956 single four intake dates

I am researching casting dates on the 1956 single four barrel cast iron intake, casting number 3735448. Does anyone have one of these manifolds? If so, what is the casting date on it?

FYI: The earliest date I have actually seen so far is G 10 6 (July 10th, 1956).
    I have a 448 manifold dated G 12 6.

    Ed,

I have a cast iron 3837109 intake with a date code of A 12 6. I beleave this intake was also used in the application you mentioned. Hope this is helpful.

Re: 1956 single four intake dates

Thanks for the info Bob. I know that the single four engine became "officially" available in April of 1956. However, the earliest 448 intake that I have seen is dated July 10th, 1956. We believe that the 109 intake was used in some single four 1956 engines. I suspect that the 109 intake was used from April to early July of 1956, then the 448 intake was used. Anyway, that is my theory.
