    David Burroughs

Does anyone know how to get in touch with David Burroughs? I am looking for a copy of his book on restoring a 65 396. It is out of print and I can't find a source for it.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Chris: I believe the book you are interested in is "Corvette Restoration - State of the Art". The author is Michael Antonick and it was published by Michael Bruce Associates, Inc. and distributed by Motorbooks International. As I understand it, David was originally part owner of the car, a 1965 396 roadster, with his partner in the project, Don Ellefsen. Before the restoration was completed, David sold his interest in the car to Don but continued to support the project as a consultant. This book goes to great lengths to describe the differences between "factory authentic" and "cosmetic" restorations. It also offers excellent insight into the formative days of organizations like NCRS and the National Corvette Certification Board (NCCB). It's a great book! Good luck in finding a copy. I suspect e-Bay to be a good source. You might also want to run an ad in the NCRS Drive Line magazine.

and the winning bid is ...

            Rex and John,

E-bay was exactly what the Doctor ordered. I was the winning bidder on a collection of 4 Corvette books. One of which was the book I was seeking. Once I take possession of the 4 books I will probably reauction the other three.

            Thanks for the assist.

Doesn't anybody read the Drivline anymore? For the past three issues I have had that book plus a few other out of print Corvette books listed for sale; this past issue with a "best offer" listed. And they are still here. Oh well, maybe I should just join the crowd and put it on Ebay also.
