My gas gauge has quit working on my 95 vette. All other gauges are working but the bars which indicate how full the gas tank is are not illuminating. The gas tank is full and the gas gauge shows "reserve". I did change the battery just prior to the gauge quit working. I have checked for burned fuses and loose connections. Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong with the gas gauge? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: 95 Vette Gas Gauge
Hi Larry,
Your fuel sending unit has gone bad. It is GM part # 25027510. I know because it went bad on me. The part lists for $505.73 wholesale it costs $354.00 and if you are handy and like working on your Corvette you can replace it yourself.
When it first went bad on my 95 corvette last year I called the dealer and he said that he had not seen any problems with 95's sending units I then called some big dealer service deptments who deal with Vette's ( toll free numbers) and again nobody had seen or heard of gas gauge problems on 95 or 92 thru 96's for that matter. I was depressed because I did not what anybody touching my car. Also I knew the sending unit was bad because it happened to go bad on my good friend's 93 Corvette with only 15,000 miles and he paid a dealer $700.00 to fix his. When it first happened to his car in April 2000 I thought he did it because he was jump starting the car, while then in April of 2001, boom it happened to me and I was at the gas station filling up and gauge stopped working I knew almost right away what it was. You can do it youself I will email you my phone number. Call me if you want and I will help you.>George- Top
