Thanks guy's, these carb's were rebuilt a couple of months ago by a reputable carb shop. Of course we have hardly drivin it becouse were in Massachusetts.
Tomorrow we will be following your suggestions, How about a set of "Rapid Fire" spark plugs? Or should we get the hottest plugs we can? Thanks,Ray

Most older Holley carbs suffer this problem when subjected to heat. The situtation is made worse by mulitiple carbs (more leaking gas). I believe that the center carb on those setups has a metering block and the outboards have metering plates. the center carb can be fixed be taking it apart having the metering surface on the carb body machined flat. This can be done on a milling machine or very carefully with a large flat file.A couple of strokes with a file will show you that the surface has become warped not allowing the gasket to seal properly in the center against the main body ,causing an internal leak. For the outboard carbs simply put a slight inward bend in the metering plate , this will act like a spring and help force the plate against the gasket and main body. It wouldn't hurt to machine that surface as well but I have had good luck doing what I just described.This routine was given to me by Holley tech many years ago and it will work.

the best way to stop carb fuel boiling is to block the exhaust heat riser cross over in the intake manifold. you will need to disconnect the auto choke because you will loose the heat to make it work. more HP is benefit also.

the center carb metering body also warps so it must be straighten in a jig because if you machine the metering body you will lose the little projections that help seal the body passages to the gasket. just putting new gaskets will not cure the problem. i have been rebuilding holley carbs for 40 years and the warped metering body is the big problem with them. that is why the new HP holleys have renforced metering bodys to prevent warping. also the throttle body warps causes idle problems and it can be machined flat
