Does anyone remember a dealership named Harlacher and Sherwood Chevrolet, Grow Avenue, in Montrose, PA. ? Montrose, PA. is near the PA/NY border between Scranton and Binghampton. Recently, through sheer dumb luck, I came upon a document showing that my 54 Corvette had been sold by that dealership, at the Manheim Auto Auction in Manheim, PA, on July 16, 1965. It was sold to a fellow in Chestertown, Maryland named Clifton Smith Faulkner. Any help appreciated. Chuck Gongloff

Re: Scranton,PA/Binghampton,NY
Hi Chuck- I have some information that may be of interest to you re: Horlacher & Sherwood. Sometime between the time that your car was sold and July 1967 that dealership relocated to 153 East Tioaga St., Tunkhannock, PA, where as of the summer of '95 it was still located, DBA Sherwood Chevrolet. Don Sherwood, the son of one of the original owners is the current owner(as of '95) and was recently elected to congress. According to my map Montrose is about 25 miles north of Tunkhannock on rt. 29. When I stopped by the dealership it was a typical small town, older car store, selling Chevrolet cars and trucks and International trucks(?). I may have a limited ammount of further information, but it is in my '67, purchased at Horlacher & Sherwood on July 11, 1967 and sold by Don Sherwood, but it is in the Omni Bag for the next couple of months. I hope this information is what you were looking for. J.Wright- Top
