Just did a quick visit to the paint shop. It is amazing how a nice red laquer can make your heart skip a beat or two. I have a couple of detail questions. Should the color of the back of the hood be rubbed. I suspect no because they would not have had time between color and black out and the underside of the hood was not originally primed?. Also I can see slight imperfections in the black and in the red (on the 1 inch edge) with a little of the fiberglass strands visible. The top surfaces will not have this because of the additional prep and primer/surfacers. I am painting in Laquer so it shows everything. Is this common how a factory underside of a hood would look like. I know they weren't perfect but I want it to be correct. I simply stripped the old paint off and did put light primer down for adhesion. Thanks for your responses.
