    '88 Coupe

I'm looking at possibly purchasing an "88 Coupe. 98K miles, new rubber & exaust, interior o.k.(looks like normal wear), no outward appearace of burning oil, paint does look bad, no major damage apparent (yet) asking a little under $9K.

Any advice out there on what I should be leary of?

    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

I have owned my 88' Vette for a few years..It has 105500 miles....The only thing I will advise you on is the wheel hub bearings, (all four) will probalbly need replacing with that many miles on the clock. I found out about mine being bad when I bought new tires at about your mileage.....The fronts are easier than the rears to replace, if you do your own work....I paid to have it done to save time, but later learned it isn't all that bad to do.....I have had only one major glitch, that took a while to figure out, and that was a defective ECM that would cause intermittant driving problems... I replaced idle sensors,MAP sensor, and several relays, before I was forced to take the car to the dealer....Thankfully, they tracked down the fault with electronic tools....Phil
