        you can not use these guided rocker even on older hyd lifter engines unless you enlarge the pushrod guide holes in the heads because without enlarging the guide holes you are trying to line up 3 fixed points,the orignal guide hole,the rocker stud and the slot in the rocker arnm on the valve stem tip so you get into a binding condition.i have seen this happen. put 3 dots randomly on a piece of paper and try to draw a straight line through all 3 and you will see the problem.

            Yes, I can see how that could happen in some situations. In fact, the binding condition that you decribe is also exactly the reason that guided rocker arms should not be used with guide plates.
