Is the aluminum intake on a 1970 LT-1 painted silver ? If so, what paint would duplicate that appearance? How much orange/red over spray would be correct ? What color are the brackets for the alternator - same car. (Black or orange/red)? Thanks for the help.

mine was unpainted, natural aluminum color. Small amount of orange overspray along the edge near heads. alternator and a.i.r. brackets painted black. -

The alternator and AIR pump adjusting BRACES (curved pieces) are painted semi-gloss black. However, the alternator and AIR pump SUPPORT BRACKETS are painted engine color. They were included with the engine assemblies as received at St. Louis.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment

What about that aluminum intake. I keep getting alternate positions of NO paint and then Yes paint. Judging manual says that it is painted - correct?Comment

Yes, I think that most of these were painted with aluminum paint. I don't know if all were, but I believe that many/most were.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment

My original 70 LT-1, VIN 14803 has a painted intake manifold. The manifold seems to be original and doesn't appear to have ever been removed.Comment
