67 BB Fuel Pump Configuration...

Last time my car was judged I received a 2 point deduct because my fuel pump was a incorrect. Since then, I have tried to acquire the information as how to identify a correct fuel pump, but to no avail. Mine has the embossed AC logo on both sides of the neck and the 482 part number stamped on the bottom rear flange. I have seen several supposedly "correct" pumps on ebay, but they look just like mine. What am I missing?

You've got me. The only difference that I was aware of with the '482' pumps is the fact that later SERVICE replacements don't have the "AC" logo and/or AC type number stamped on the flange (the latter of which I don't think is judged, anyway). Why didn't you or don't you now ask the judge that "docked" you the points? There shouldn't be any secrets about this. At least, I certainly hope not. If there are secrets about this or anything else, then I'm going to have to be careful in the future lest I give away too many "secrets".

I have my old pump in hand and it has AC stamp on each side. When mounted on the right side of the motor,the # 289K40482 is stamped on the rear bottom edge with the last digit #2 lined up under the rear bolt. About 1 inch below the rear facing AC stamp are two circular impressions . The impression below the C in AC is open into the pump body and the one under the A is closed . There are two more impressions on this side near where the dome is crimped to the base. The impression closest to the motor is open ,the other is sealed. The same four impressions appear on the forward facing surface but all are sealed.
The letters or word IN appear on the bottom surface next to the fuel inlet.
Only one example but this may help
