    Grand Sport II

Ron Rains sent me these pictures that he received from Jim Hall. The pictures look like concept images. Ron would like to know if anyone has any information on these images.

John, are we able to post pictures directly to the posts like you've done. That is a great option? Or is that an editor only function? I have been unable to get any of my links to work.

Don't know anything about the vehicle but I can just imagine the sound of those pipes!

        Penalty....

There's a storage space 'penalty' associated with posting pictures and graphics. John is the man with the 'keys' to the machine and he can do things we mortals can't....

You can always post a hypertext link to your own website where YOU pay the freight for pixel density storage.... But, there's got to be a limit to what NCRS pays the tab for on our discussion board and I can understand the limitation of not accepting OLE upload add-ins.

Your turn to speak, oh maestro, John....

Re: off the subject. more pics....

off the subject, but It would be nice to see other members cars in the personal file, limiting to maybe two pictures...if you have more than 2 cars , combine them in the two pics...
if there is a charge, people will pay...
Plus, pictures bring more people into the sport.. advertise it on the cover page.....I feel it would be a great educational bonus to see other peoples, color combinations, engine compartments, undercarraiges, suspensions, etc...
I personally would love to see a rolling NCRS 68 frame... to compare with mine, before I drop the body...if I saw a car that I was building, and needed help, I could email that person for assistance, and or more pics...
if its upgrade software, I can contact my computer brother and try to help out..

I believe these are pictures of the GSIIB, an advanced chassis test setup built by GM, which either it itself or ideas used on it, evolved into the Chaparral.

                    Concur!

According to "Corvette Show Cars and Prototypes" two were built - the first with a steel chassis and the second with an aluminum chassis. Larry Shinoda did the design and Frank Winchell laid out the chassis.

I believe the GS-IIb postdated the AWD mid-engine CERV II.

                        James,

This is an Admin only function. At one time this was possible for everyone, but everyone couldn't handle the responsibilty like adults. I would be willing to post pictures when appropriate for anyone.

I would be happy to incorporate some pages of good pictures of cars. I would love to have a good un-copyrighted picture of each year of car. A short description of the car and the differences between it and the model before and after it. These pages someone who was unable to tell the difference between a '56, and a '57 for instance could use as a quick reference. Anyone who would like to help compile such a section or anyone with some good digital photos they would like to share should contact me at admin@ncrs.org Obviously I could not promise to use all pictures available but would like to use the cream of the crop.
