Are the supports for the small block cars and the big block cars on the left side?

        adding factory air

john, i checked with the person that bought my 64 365 HP coupe in 65 and he put a complete GM A/C system in the car. he said it took about 100 hours to do it. he got the unit from a guy who was turning his corvette into a race car, remember this was 30+ years ago. so it can be done.

I agree - it can be done, but it's a Hell of a job! There are lots of mid-years running around these days with Vintage Air setups, as they are much simpler to install than the original and blow ICE-cold. I put a Vintage Air R134a system in the tube-frame Grand Sport I built, and five minutes after turning the A/C on, you could hang meat in it

these guys add factory air to get the selling price up, as orignal installation,he also put in factory electric windows. i guess there were not that many 365 hp cares with air and electric windows. this guys has also built L-88 clones using all orignal factory parts back in the 80s.

One of the (two) '65 Coupes I had and restored in the early 70's was a 327/365 with A/C and power windows (and teak/tele wheel), and it was a tanker as well; I shoulda kept that one, but who knew in those days? Hindsight is 20-20

                            HI Hans,
Look at the area were the battery box bolts to the frame. On original air cars it is on the drivers side. On non air cars it's on the passenger side. There will usually be some indentication on the frame of a battery box on the passenger side even if it has been relocated to the drivers side.
                            Hope this helps

Have you seen the cost of NOS air conditioning parts? Things like evaporators, expansion valves, condensors (if you can even find NOS) are so outrageous that it would cost you twice what the improvement adds to the value of the car. I should know, I'm restoring two air cars (67's)now. Never again!!
