    Body-Off: C1 vs C2

Hi all: If I have midyear body-off experience and would have no trouble with body R&R on a midyear, will I find that I can tackle the same on a C1 or is it a whole different animal? (I realize the mounting arrangement, etc. is different. - I'm thinking in terms of level of difficulty, manhours, likely pitfalls & challenges, etc.)

    Thanks for all your input.

I found that the C1 has a little more room to work around the frame. The C1 is older and will naturally have some age related problems, rust, availiblity of correct parts etc. but overall I felt the C1 was easier and less complicated. If you've done a C2 you'll do very well with a C1

Karl, My personal opinion is that C1 cars are the easiest cars to do a body-off restoration on. There are no caged nuts that are hidden, and the bodies are incredibly rigid needing no additional support means other than the dolly. 4 people can carry a C1 body around by the wheelwells and not even have to worry about flexing the body. The construction of the bodies is very simple with no components that cannot be replaced easily. John
